It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dr. Bhatti's son, Brother Athar Habib Bhatti.
إِنَّا ِلِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
May Allah have mercy on him. Ameen
Funeral services will be held Tomorrow, Wednesday, August 23, 2023 after Asr prayer (Asr Prayer will be at 6:00 pm) at the Islamic Center in Goldsboro, followed by burial.

Narrated Abu Huraira (RA) : Allah's Apostle Muhammad (sallalahu alaihi wa sallam) said, "(A believer) who accompanies the funeral procession of a Muslim out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah's reward and remains with it till the funeral prayer is offered and the burial ceremonies are over, he will return with a reward of two Qirats. Each Qirat is like the size of the (Mount) Uhud. He who offers the funeral prayer only and returns before the burial, will return with the reward of one Qirat only."

QURBANI 2023 - 1444
Qurbani is an obligation that we are commanded to perform by Allah (SWT). Therefore, it is vital that we follow the Qurbani meat distribution rules and regulations. Below is a brief guide to the rules and recommendations of Qurbani.
Who Must Perform Qurbani?
Every Muslim must perform Qurbani. The only exceptions are as follows:
Those who do not possess 52.5 tolas of silver, or the wealth equivalent
Those not of sound mind
Those who have not yet reached and passed puberty
Those who are travelling and are more than the Shar’i distance from home.
Note: You are permitted to donate Qurbani on behalf of other people, including those who have passed away. However, you are not expected to provide Qurbani animals on behalf of your children.
What animals can be sacrificed?
Halal four-legged animals can be sacrificed as Qurbani, including goats, sheep, cattle (cow, ox, buffalo) or camels.
When Must Qurbani Be Performed?
Qurbani must be performed on the tenth, eleventh and twelfth days of Dhul-Hijjah, the time of the festival of Eid ul-Adha.
Who Can Receive Qurbani Meat?
Meat from Qurbani animals may be distributed equally in three parts. It may be given to the family, friends and the poor (both Muslim and non-Muslim alike).

We pray that they will also continue to pursue Islamic knowledge and make it an integral part of their lives. We all have a responsibility as a community to encourage our youth to excel not just in their academics but also in their Deen. Our youth have shown that they are capable of extraordinary accomplishments in the right environment and with the right tools
May Allah bless all our youth, protect them from the challenges they face, and keep them on the straight path. Ameen
ABOUT
Islamic Center of Goldsboro is the largest mosque in Goldsboro NC. It was established in 2012 with the grace of All-mighty God and generous donations from Goldsboro Muslim community. The mosque has about 1000 square ft of praying area, a large picnic area, a football ground on a beautiful wooded land of 17 acres.
